Eliana had her first airplane ride on May 19 when we spent a week in NYC both for Nate's work and for us to have a sneak preview of what it would be like to live there. It was a fun, tiring, amazing, hard, exciting, adventurous trip and we survived. The 5-hr flight there was a bit rough. After technical difficulties on the way out, we finally took off but Eliana was not so enthused with our lack of space or fresh air. After two hours of trying to soothe her, she passed out. I don't think I can ever remember not using the facilities on a flight, but this was the first for both Nate and I. Once she was asleep, we were not moving out of our seats.
We loved our week in the city. Luckily, our hotel was on W. 63rd & Broadway, so we were within walking distance of the park. We took a walk there every day and even got a couple runs in. However, the city was a bit overstimulating for little Elle Belle. We quickly realized how sensitive she is to sound when we had to take our dinner to go when we were out with Nate's boss and family....the second we would walk back in to the restaurant, she would melt down. Poor thing! So, we learned that dinner in the park was a much better option than dinner in the restaurant.
Asleep at last on the plane
Last ones to clear out baggage claim
Eliana got to meet her Aunt Vivi finally. We were so lucky to have dinner with her and Daniel.
Thanks to Liesl & Pete for my cute hoodie!
