Ethan - 10 months

Ethan is such a mellow, happy little baby boy.  We love watching him grow and develop skills as well as starting to stand his ground with Eliana:)

New tricks:
-Pulling up
-Better at self feeding
-Babbling "ma ma ma", "da da da"
-Pointing
-Crawling on all 4's

Likes:
-Animal mobile above his bed. He loves it (thank you, Anna and Ryan- a present from their Africa trip)
-Bird mobile above his changing table
-Dancing
-All kinds of fruit, strawberries in particular
-Squawking, sort of sounds like a machine gun:)
-Swinging
-WATER. He loves it; from the bath to the water table to the kiddie pool. He freaks out for it and dives in head first.
-Cars
-Rolling the ball back and forth

Dislikes:
-Big sister playing wrestle mania on him
-There really aren't that many dislikes which shows you how even-tempered he is. And if he is hungry, tired or over stimulated, he will just suck his thumb.

Schedule:
He still continues to take two naps a day; goes down at 9:00 am and usually again at 1:00 pm.  Unlike Eliana, he will usually go 1.5-2 hours/nap.  Eliana never slept longer than 30 minutes until she was 2!  It's crazy how different they are.  He's down early for bed time as well, usually by 6:30 - 7:00.

We love you, lil E!!

Ethan's baptism

It was a perfect day for Ethan's baptism....on Mother's Day!  Marilyn (the Reverend of our church, The  Espiscopal Church of the Ascension) truly loves baptisms and it showed.  All the children brought glasses of water to fill the crystal bowl on the font.  Ethan was squirming from the beginning, trying to leap into the bowl of water, so excited to see it poured in and blessed. I could not hold him still; he was shaking in happiness with all 4 limbs.  He loved it, did not cry, and then didn't even flinch when Marilyn accidentally got some of the oil in his eyes. She put oil on him after the water, this amazing herbal scent with some frankincense in it.  In fact, I'm still smelling it today and it's wonderful. Anyway, he then let Marilyn parade him around during the sharing of the Peace.  It was a wonderful day and so fun to see all the children gather around the font, excitedly watching a baby being baptized.

The only disappointment of the whole day was seeing that the pictures did not turn out as well as we'd hoped.  Silly indoor photography:(  My Dad was unable to make it due to some health issues.  But, a big thanks to my Mom and Amy. We missed the rest of our family, but will be able to celebrate soon in person.
Excited to explore the altar after the service.

Sleepy bear after all the excitement

These pictures were taken after the service (in respect to the Sacrament). Ethan still could not get enough of the water....
