First Airplane Ride/Major Trip

Eliana had her first airplane ride on May 19 when we spent a week in NYC both for Nate's work and for us to have a sneak preview of what it would be like to live there. It was a fun, tiring, amazing, hard, exciting, adventurous trip and we survived. The 5-hr flight there was a bit rough. After technical difficulties on the way out, we finally took off but Eliana was not so enthused with our lack of space or fresh air. After two hours of trying to soothe her, she passed out. I don't think I can ever remember not using the facilities on a flight, but this was the first for both Nate and I. Once she was asleep, we were not moving out of our seats.

We loved our week in the city. Luckily, our hotel was on W. 63rd & Broadway, so we were within walking distance of the park. We took a walk there every day and even got a couple runs in. However, the city was a bit overstimulating for little Elle Belle. We quickly realized how sensitive she is to sound when we had to take our dinner to go when we were out with Nate's boss and family....the second we would walk back in to the restaurant, she would melt down. Poor thing! So, we learned that dinner in the park was a much better option than dinner in the restaurant.

Asleep at last on the plane

Last ones to clear out baggage claim

Eliana got to meet her Aunt Vivi finally. We were so lucky to have dinner with her and Daniel.

Thanks to Liesl & Pete for my cute hoodie!

Snodgrass Family weekend in Portland

Eliana was so happy to see her Grandpa Snodgrass, Nonna, Aunt Lindsey, Uncle Matt and cousin Beckett last weekend. What a wonderful day she had hanging out, exploring some restaurants, soaking up the sun on Matt and Lindsey's patio and being with her family. Thank you Grandpa, Nonna, Matt and Lindsey for such a wonderful weekend!

I think Grandpa is in heaven here...

I love brunch!

First Wedding Reception

Last weekend, we headed down to Portland for one of John Snodgrass' fraternity brother's son's wedding reception (wow, did you get all that?? Pardon my use of the apostrophe as well; I am not the English major in the family...). Eliana put on her best clothes and soaked in the food, dancing and company. Well, she actually took a nap on Grandpa Snodgrass' shoulder, watched the Ghana drum entertainment with open eyes and then took a rest on the top of the table. What a good wedding date you are, Elle Belle!

Our Little Punkin' is 3 Months!

Eliana Kathleen is 3 months old! It's amazing how much she has changed. She is so much more interactive now; smiling, starting to giggle, lifting her head, developing a love for tummy time, cooing, and still loving her in-motion naps. Nate and I have found ourselves looking through her newborn photos and find it hard to believe how different and little she was 3 months ago. We have also agreed that we should start calling her by her name more frequently as she might think her name is punkin' in a couple months. Oh well, at least now we have her first Halloween costume decided, huh? We love you, Elle Belle!

Thanks Auntie Amy for all my new clothes!!

First Mother's Day

Nate and Eliana spoiled me for my first Mother's Day. We had the perfect day hanging out: a run along the Magnolia bluff, pain au chocolate at the Upper Crust Bakery, brunch on our back patio, a nap, a BBQ steak dinner, and Fran's salted caramels for dessert. And, we couldn't have asked for better weather....65 in Seattle and bluebird. I love you both; thanks for a wonderful day!

Eliana is trying so hard to find that thumb!!

I think the camera was getting a bit distracting at this point
