The Snodgrass Family: 9 Months

We went in for Eliana's 9 month check up last Wednesday (amidst the crazy snow, even!) and here are the new stats:
-Weight: 18 lb. 15 oz (52% tile)
-Height: 27.25 inches (37% tile)
-Head Circumference: 45.1 cm (80% tile)

We laugh because with Nate and I's height, who ever expected her to be in the 90th percentile in height? Ha! Not so tall, but a big noggin:) We hope Eliana gets a kick out of this some day like we did.

At 9 months, her new tricks are: *crawling on all fours - very smooth compared to the worm movement two months ago, *turning the pages while we read - we help get it started, but she can flip them, *beginning to pull herself up (gets to her knees), *feeding herself (finger foods) when she's motivated - which is usually when the yogurt treats are involved, *waving 'hi' and 'bye' (not necessarily at the appropriate times, but it's so cute!)

Elle Belle continues to love: *exploring the house, *taking baths, *swim lessons, *the blue exercise ball, *when Daddy comes home, *eating Mom's cell phone, *swinging at the park, *eating avocados, *reading books, especially her "Frances Firefly" with the neat colored and textured wings, *playing on Mom and Dad's bed

She has found new love for: *her rubber Ducky, *getting dressed to 'The Hokey Pokey' (sung by Mom), *her new music table (thanks, Grandma and Grandpa!)

This 9 month phase is so fun because she's changing and doing new things every day, but on the same hand, she has a very heightened sense of separation anxiety. When Mom starts to walk away and she can't see me, she gets upset. It's amazing how much emotional development is going on at the same time as the physical development.

One more thing to note before I forget. There will be random moments when certain sounds and words make Eliana laugh. For example, yesterday, she sneezed while I was changing her and I said, "Excuse you." She broke out in laughter, so I continued saying it, but with a more playful pitch, like "Scuse you" (leaving off the 'e' sound). It was so precious because for 10 minutes, I kept saying it, waiting a minute and then repeating and she thought it was the funniest thing in the world. We love you, Pumpkin! You are such a joy.
