Christmas in Ft Collins (Part 2)

Eliana had a wonderful Christmas in Ft Collins. The highlights were playing with her Grandpa's train and playing with her cousin Molly (the Golden Retriever). We've never seen her squeal in delight so many times over and over again. This was our joy for Christmas; watching her in such wonder at these two new things: trains and dogs. The low light was that Mom got sick on Christmas Eve, but what a better place to get sick than at home with everyone to help take care of Eliana?

Seattle Christmas

We celebrated our first Christmas together as a family the night before we left for Colorado. Eliana loved the wrapping paper and noises and was moderately excited about her presents. She got winter booties and Capilene long underwear for our cold adventures in the mountains. Mostly, though, she loved looking at the lights on the tree and trying to pull off the ornaments that weren't strategically above 1-2 feet.

10 Months

Eliana's new tricks include: *pulling herself up, *transferring herself while standing up between objects (i.e. coffee table and couch), *climbing one stair, and *organizing stuff (by that I mean pulling stuff out/off of things and chucking it around the room).

She continues to love exploring new parts of the house; inside the fridge, the dishwasher, the washing machine, the bathtub, Dad's guitar, you name it! Her favorite thing in life so far seems to be watching and playing with dogs and watching Grandpa Dahlgren's train (more in an upcoming Christmas post).

She's on the move all the time and loves to explore. Happy 10 months, Pumpkin!

Diaper changes are a lot more work now, with the busy bee on the move

Visit from Auntie Amy

Auntie Amy was in town for a quick business trip in December. Eliana loved it because she took such good care of her while Mom and Dad dawdled doing their Christmas shopping downtown Seattle. Thanks for coming, Auntie! Come back soon!

A day with the Tambo/Guerra Family

My dear friend from UPS, Kathy Guerra, and her family returned from her foreign service post in Colombia in December and we were lucky to spend a day with them. Eliana loved watching Alex. We got a lunch in with Auntie Anna, a nap in at home and an afternoon at Pike Place market.

Christmas Cookies

Our dear friends and neighbors, Katerine and Casey Newman, had us over to make Christmas cookies (yes, we're finally getting caught up on all the holiday pictures!). It was a blast and although Eliana wasn't able to decorate this year, she loved sitting at the table and watching during her breaks from crawling/pulling herself up. Thanks, Newmans!
